Street Food: Ebby’s Authentic Turkish Kitchen

I love a good food market, so when the Shepherds Market people announced that they will be extending their food market at St James’ Church Courtyard on Piccadilly by an additional day (Tuesday), I was really happy. The traders are different to those that take over the courtyard on a Monday and generally rotate on a two weekly basis.

Luckily as my offices overlook the courtyard, I have the added advantage of being able to scope out the options before venturing out into the cold.

Ebby’s Authentic Turkish Kitchen was a new addition to the market that came with the Tuesday extension and the first week they showed up, I managed to convince half of the office to make a trip down and give them a go.

A few weeks on I decided I could at least feature them on the blog.

These guys offer authentic Turkish kofte and halloumi wraps & salad boxes. You have a choice of kofte’s, halloumi or both.

The kofte’s and halloumi are both cooked on a grill within the gazebo and are served hot. Once you’ve decided what you want, its all assembled and handed over. You have a choice of chopped tomatoes and an onion based salad, hummus and their special sauce.

The meaty kofte’s are well seasoned and the salads are simple but effective, thus making for the perfect lunch. I like to de-construct mine when I get back to the office so that I can put together the elements in my own order.

Find these guys every other Tuesday (that’s next Tuesday) at the St James Church courtyard on Piccadilly. You can also follow their whereabouts via their social media channels:
