In February 2011 I worked my first Couture event at the Westbury London. Marking the start of London Fashion Week, up and coming designer Stephane St Jaymes previewed his spring/summer 2011 collection.
From helping with seating plans and filling goody bags, to welcoming A-listers and ensuring they were seated, adrenalin didn’t stop pumping through my veins.
Over the course of the day, I watched numerous rehearsals of semi ready models walking to the music, however in the same way as a mother proudly watches as her child grows, the day hit its peak when the lights dimmed and the romantic music kicked in whilst the first model sashayed down the ramp.
The show was split in two halves, displaying the versatility of Stephane’s designs. The first half was more wearable modeled slightly on the Breakfast at Tiffany’s era. Whilst the second half was a lot more exaggerated with the use of laser cut flowers, fringing and flowing fabrics.
All the pictures below were taken on my phone, so apologies for any that are slightly unclear.
